To be an African

Dear African ancestors we invoke your spirits

Please rise from the oceans and graves

For reparation is on the table

 Alas our time has come

 To peruse hidden information

 Brushed aside by the oppressor

 Global stories of atrocities

 Pain etched in our memories

 Passed down through poverty

 An entire history erased

Like the broken nose on an Egyptian statue

Jesus is now a European Jew

 Stolen history based on disrespect

 Our souls remain intact

Strong as the underwater statues in Grenada

 Put us together collectively

 To craft a moral repair

Away from the immorality of money

 To secure a better future

With no black souls being sold as commodity
