Anti-Capitalist-Capitalist

The anti-capitalist and the capitalist share a bond that is the same as the oppressor-and-oppressed relationship. Both groups are intertwined and cannot be separated. The anti-capitalists and capitalists feed from the energies of one another as the capitalists search for profits and the anti-capitalists continue to voice opposition to the profit-theme of the capitalist.

Since this relationship is ongoing as long as capitalism is alive; then analysis of the two categories must be examined.

Let us begin with the system of capitalism-its meaning is to acquire capital. A global system that can be traced to ancient biblical beginnings. Human beings are trapped to its ideology from birth, during their maturity stages, and at the end of life. There is no escape from capitalism as its deliverables are saturated in every corner of the world. Its money schemes are being propagated by all- even by those who are against its principles and by those who have been historically oppressed.

Consumers, workers and the taxes they pay, and the owners of businesses all operate under capitalism. These individuals are the ones who pay the capitalists and the government heads who continue the system of capital.

Capitalism is not a system that shows equilibrium, but rather it is imbalanced and unjust, and that is emblazoned in the different statistical conclusions in the world. There are slums in different parts of Africa, in Asia, and in Latin America while half of the world only survives on $1.75 a day. Wealth inequality arises because of the system’s false promises, which are affecting marginalized groups, women, and everyday workers who all become victims to venture-capitalism. Furthermore, only a few billionaires and millionaires exist compared to the billions who struggle to pay for basic necessities.

Capitalism is the driving force behind these disparities; not the decisions of people. Human beings do not make conscious decisions to be without water, to have no electricity, to have no money for school fees and tuition, or to be stuck with meager salaries. These examples are in-fact social effects of the system and its impact on human life. It is a clear case of cause-and-effect.

It is those social repercussions of capitalism that ignites’ differences between the capitalist and the anti-capitalist. The anti-capitalist is more so the holistic, whole-hearted human being who sees the crimes of capital in every angle. The human toll, the environmental crises, the hatred that accompanies class structures, and the competition of jobs and standard of living.

The anti-capitalist is the environmentalist who loves Nature but hates toxic fumes from different industrial plants. The anti-capitalist is a faith-conscious person who sees God’s designs being destroyed by a profit-focused capitalist. The anti-capitalist is the worker who faces low pay, long hours at work but with no equity. The anti-capitalists are marginalized groups who, historically, have been subjected to racist economic policies, which are still affecting their families and communities. The anti-capitalist is the younger generations who are observing systems and their functionalities, and combining that with multi-generational experiences.

Anti-capitalists look at the system from an objective angle to see its phases from production to presentation. The capitalist is concerned with profit as the end-result but avoids the environmental and human injustices of the system. Mainly, it is the usual battle between those who become keen to the happenings of the world that they demand change, while many more stay in the subjective category to care only for their individual agendas and outcomes.

There are reasons why history has a Hugo Chavez and a Fidel Castro in contrast to George Bush and Tony Blair. The first two were anti-capitalists while the latter are staunch capitalists. Chavez and Castro were strong opponents of capitalism because they connected the history of Latin America to the greed of the capitalists from the north(Bush and Blair alike). Consequently, a reaction to what was happening in Venezuela and Cuba propelled Chavez and Castro to take on socialistic ideas away from capitalism. Still today, the capitalists from the north continue to celebrate capitalism and have been active in aiming to disrupt the socialist ideas of Latin America.

The anti-capitalist and capitalist sometimes differ in upbringing and that inspires a difference in output. Someone who is raised rich and privileged may not understand the output of the anti-capitalist; though they should. Anti-capitalists are those who are tired of multi-generational poverty and economic injustices. In contrast, capitalists are convinced that the payer-payee principle in capitalism is a productive idea.

There is always the human component to socio-economic and political ideologies. Human beings react to situations which are discomforting and unjust. Capitalism is the reason behind different protests such teachers needing money for resources, and workers demanding better pay and fair working conditions.

Capitalism is the force behind the idea of private property and all the bureaucracy that follows that, in addition, to the poverty-and-homelessness crisis. Because of its sole goal to siphon funds; capitalism unleashes economic scarcity into the lives of families.

Finally, its commercialism and private enterprise endeavors continue to inflict havoc on human beings who simply want modest, safe, and healthy lives.
